At the age of 19 She released Here, her debut song. It was an instant hit that both critics and the fans were awed by it. It ranked 19th in both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs of the year. That same year, she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five original songs that reached the charts of Billboard. The song is unique as there were many who reacted to the interview with rapper Rap-Up regarding her struggles to learn to love and embrace her. Cara is known for including messages about mental health kindness and self-love into her music. All of Cara's music stems directly from her struggle with mental illness and insomnia. In a recent interview with Reuters, she stated that her album is "half turbulent" and "half done". The therapy she received made her stronger and she encourages others to do the same. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th day of July 1996. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was barely 10 years old. This ignited her love for music. Three years later at the age of 13 she started covering her most loved songs through YouTube a major media platform to show the world that she possessed the talent skills and courage to become the next singer. The cover of Sweater Weather ended up getting her noticed by a record company called EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and compose her own songs.
